Light Industrial Permitted Development Rights
As central Government continues to try to find ways to provide more housing, further permitted development rights changes are to come into force within the next 12 months, with a significant one being the permitted change of use from light industrial to residential.
This will require an initial application to establish whether or not the prior approval of the local planning authority is required, and this may not be submitted prior to 1 October 2017, and must be determined by 30 September 2020. This will apply only to buildings in use solely for a light industrial use on 19th March 2014.
