Zone 1 Regeneration Site Sold

Kingsbury, along with joint-agents Knight Frank were appointed to sell a regeneration site within the Elephant & Castle Opportunity Area on Walworth Road. 

237 Walworth Road was a cleared site of approximately 0.75 acres and had planning consent for 67 apartments (59 private units & 8 affordable units) with an approximate Net Saleable Area of 49,955 sq ft along with a planning consent for a Student scheme comprising 143 bed spaces plus 6 affordable units and 1 private unit with an approximate Net Saleable Area of 42,292 sq ft.

The site was sold in June 2015 for £10,500,000 with vacant possession ready for development to begin. 

The regeneration of Elephant & Castle will see the area receive an injection of £1.5bn over the next 15 years. The regeneration will include the creation of a new pedestrianised town centre, market square, up to 450,000sq ft of retail space, an integrated public transport hub, and five new green spaces. 

Many new housing developments have already been completed providing a mixture of new private, social rented and intermediate homes.
